The bubblewrap drabble challenge#5
Tapdancing bubblewrap by Astrild

Astrild was in the dance studio working on the choreography for a new dance. She was so
completely engulfed in the music and her dancing that she didn't see or hear the door open
and someone slip inside. As she started a grand jete she noticed him and lost her
concentration, Astrild ended up on the ground. DHerk ran to her when he saw her fall
and offered his hand. "Are
you okay?" he asked concerned.
"Yea," she answered. "At least this time I don't think anything's broken," she added with a grin. "DHerk, what's wrong?"
"You mean you haven't heard?"
"Heard what? In case you forgot the walls in here are sound proof. Which is a good thing but I don't think we should let Sov know. With the way he likes screaming Amazons he's liable to make the mirrors break. Besides, I had the music loud so I wouldn't have been able to hear anything anyway. What's going on out there?"
"Well, Chantal kind of started it with Ares and then things got even more carried away with Danaan and Wet&WildHerk and Freya with Sov and his new codpiece."
"That's not difficult knowing Danaan and Freya. What did Chantal start?"
Astrild asked even though her mind stayed on his last comment about Sov's new codpiece. *Hmmm, she thought, Sov has a new codpiece. As Assistant Codpiece Caresser I'll have to make sure I check it out.*
DHerk was continuing on with his story while Astrild was thinking about Sov's new codpiece. "...and so now everyone is obsessing about this bubble wrap stuff."
"Huh? Bubble wrap??? Where? I've got to find some." Astrild ran out of the dance studio searching for the treasured bubble wrap. She found some and after fighting off some other Amazons Astrild returned to the dance studio with her prize.
"Not you too Astrild." DHerk groaned.
"I'm afraid so my sweet DHerk. I don't know what it is about bubble wrap, I just can't help myself." Astrild sat down and began popping.
"Hey, give me some of that stuff," DHerk said as he was drawn by the popping.
Astrild didn't look like she was going to give it up until DHerk gave her his 'dance with
me' stare. Reluctantly she handed him a small scrap of bubble wrap. DHerk
examined it then attached it to the bottom of his boots and began a tap step. He
looked up at Astrild who was beginning to drool, she regained her composure and put some
of the bubble wrap on her shoes. She tried a shuffle poooppp poooppp. 'That
shouldn't have worked' she thought, the bubbles should have been popped. She picked
up her foot and looked at the bubbles, they were whole and waiting to be popped.
Astrild couldn't believe it, she found "rejuvenating bubble wrap". She
squealed with delight and spun herself into DHerk's arms. Astrild and DHerk
continued their "Bubble Wrap Tap" long into the night.
