Zareta's Magical Night
Rent a Herk story
by Hilara
Zareta kicked off her high heels and headed toward the kitchen. She looked in the
refrigerator but realized she had forgot to stop at the market on the way home. Sighing,
she checked the freezer.
There was a Lean Cusinine Macaroni and Cheese Dinner. Oh well at least she could think of
Kevin Sorbo as she ate it. He had looked pretty sexy in that commercial. She was about to
pop it in the microwave when her front door rang.
Zareta looked out the peephole and was surprised to find Iolaus there. She opened the door
and smiled. He was dressed as a limo driver. "Don't laugh," he warned her.
"I'm on a mission."
"Is it daring secret one?" she asked. "That it is, and it is just for
you." "For me?" she asked incredulous. "For you," he reaffirmed.
"Tell me," she begged. "I can't, it's a secret remember?
Besides you will find out soon enough. Now come with me," he said offering her his
arm.
"Wait, I have to get my coat and shoes," she protested. "You won't be
needing them. The car is nice and warm, besides look beneath you." Zareta looked
down. A red carpet appeared beneath her feet. She wiggled her toes. It was nice and plush.
"Then by all means lead kind sir." Iolaus smiled and helped her into the back
seat of a most luxurious limousine.
They were off. They had only gone a few miles down the road, when Zareta began to feel a
strange sensation. It was if the Limousine was being lifted off the ground. At first she
felt a sense of fear, but it was soon replaced with an almost giddy feeling. She felt like
she was a kid on a ride at
Disneyworld.
Hang on Zareta, Iolaus called back, your about to embark on an incredible journey to
adventure.
It seemed only a matter of moments before Iolaus opened the door and offered her his hand
once more.Miranda looked around her in amazement. They were in what appeared to be a
landing bay and there were all sorts of space craft around her. "Are we on the
Universal backlot?" she asked. This looks like the old set of BattleStar
Galactica." Iolaus laughed. "No more questions. Or you will spoil the
surprise for yourself. Now follow me."
Iolaus led her down out of the bay into a narrow corridor. There were several doors. He
pused a button on the side of one and it magically opened. "These are your quarters.
You will find everything you need inside. Enjoy your evening." With those words,
Iolaus turned and walked back down the hall and the door slid shut.
Zareta stood dazed for a few moments. The room she was in was done in mauve and grey. It
was quite beautiful and plush. There were several vases filled with the most unusual,
vibrantly colored,
flowers she'd ever seen. And there was a huge closet filled with a magnificent wadrobe.
"Wow", she said as she ran to it. She pushed back the hangers one by one, until
she stopped in awe. There was the most exquisite white flowing gown. It looked like
something a queen would wear to her coronation. "Should I try it on?" she asked
herself. Maybe it belongs to someone else. But Iolaus
said I would find everything I needed in here. What the heck I'm going to go for it."
I wonder if there is a shower in here. She pushed a button on the side wall and a private
bathroom was revealed. "Ask and ye shall receive," Zareta said. Then she began
to laugh delightedly.
Ater her shower Zareta dressed in the gown and found a pair of slippers. They were white
and they looked so plush. She slid her feet into them and they fit perfectly. "Just
like Cinderella" she said happily."
There was a knock on her door. Zareta opened it thinking Iolaus had returned. Instead
Young HerK and Young Jason stood outside. "Are you ready princess?" they asked
her. This time she didn't hesitate or ask questions. She was just going to go with the
flow. Young Jason and Young Herc escorted her to what appeared to be the bridge of a ship.
But there were no personnel on duty.
There was a small table. It was clear it had been set for an intimate dinner for two.
The table cloth was pure white linen and the plates and glasseswere a deep rich
purple. Two white candles burned and delicious smells eminated from the serving
trays.
Young Herc pulled out her chair for her and saw that she was seated. While Young Jason
asked her if she would care for some wine. Zareta nodded. He poured her some and
then filled the glass opposite her.
Then a deap baritone voice said, "Thank you boys; I can take over from here. Zareta
turned and saw him approach. She gasped at how handsome he looked. He was adorned in a
blue dress uniform which made his incredible eyes stand out even more.
"Allow me to introduce myself," he said. I am Commander HerK. "I'm
Zareta." she answered. He came closer and took her hand in his and lightly kissed
first her fingers and then her palms." She sighed in pleasure. Pleased to meet you my
dearest lady."
"Likewise Commander." He smiled at her. "Now my first command to you"
he informed her is to relax and enjoy yourself." It wasn't at all hard to do.
The food was wondefull, the wine delicate yet flavorfull. The Commander was also an expert
conversationalist, altough too often Zareta found herself getting lost in his eyes.
When dinner was over Young Jason and Young Herc appeared and quickly cleared away the
dishes and the table.
When they were alone again Commander HerK walked over to the bridge and adjusted
some knobs. A panel rose and before them appeared a galaxy of stars and planets. Zareta
was stunned. "The view never ceases to amaze me," the Commander said. "But
your beauty outrivals, even the
brightest celestial presence."
Music began to play from the intercom system. Zareta thought it would be garbled,
but it was clearer than any CD. The harps that were playing sounded heavenly. He
returned and kneeled in front of her. "Shall we dance Princess Zareta?"
"I'm not a princess" she said bowing her head. He stood, placed a finger under
her chin, and said firmly, You are to me."
He pulled her in his arms and she rested her head on his firm shoulder. He was a
magnificent dancer and her own feet felt as if they had grown wings. They waltzed untill
they were breathless.
Then he kissed her. It was as sweet a first kiss as she had ever shared. "I hope you
don't think that was too forward of me" he said. "No not at all" she
assured him. The music had ended. "I'll walk you to your quarters," he
said.
When they reached it Zareta found herself feeling disappointed that the night was nearly
over. She borrowed his words "Would it be to forward of me, if I asked you to join
me?" He grinned and his blue eyes sparked.
"Not at all, I was hoping you'd ask." He came into the room and shut the door
behind them.
Slowly he removed her gown following its wake with lips. She began to unbutton his uniform
with equal leisure. As handsome as he had looked in it, he was even more awesome without
it.
He then picked her up and carried her slowly to the bed. They made love with a tender
passion that left them both deeply touched. When it was over, he cradled her in his arms,
stroked her forhead, and kissed her eyelids closed. Then they both slept peacefully.
The next morning Zareta awoke in her own bed. For a moment she thought it had all been a
dream, untill she noticed that one of the flowers she had seen in her ship quarters
lay on the other pillow. And she felt a piece of paper in her hand. There was a note on
it. It read "It wasn't a dream,
my princess, whenever you need me all you have to do is call out my name. You are
unforgetable, my darling. Love, CommanderHerK.
As are you she whispered, as are you.
The End.
